My sons’ soccer team, the Neon Knights, won the championship for the U9 division in this weekend’s local soccer tournament. They drew their first game 4-4, pitched a shutout to win their second game 5-0, then came back from a two-goal deficit to win their third game 3-2 and claim the title. They played three games in one day in the Texas heat, and showed a lot of grit, determination, and teamwork. Well done.

Proud indeed, and proud of the whole team. It was bad enough standing on the sidelines in the heat of the day. I can’t imagine how it was to be running around in it. My boys are on the back right. The blue shirt is the goalie.
